As it turns out, eggs were one of the many symbols of rebirth that has been associated with spring. In fact, it was used by many different cultures around the world - the early Egyptians, Hindu, Russians, and Chinese. But what about the bunny? The Easter bunny was originally a symbol of fertility. Now a days, the bunnies mostly bring egg hunts and pastel-colored candy, but they still keep that old association of new life by ushering in spring.
Happy Easter Everyone!

I'm a new follower...hope you'll follow me too.
ReplyDeleteEggs at Easter time makes sense...but I just can't figure out what a rabbit delivering candy chicks (peeps) to kids has to do with the Resurrection...lol

Stopping by from the Monday Blog Hops and was happy to see I was already following thru GFC but not Facebook or Networked Blogs so I did follow those today. I could not find a Twitter button or I would have checked that, too. I would appreciate a follow back on the GFC, Facebook and Twitter if you are not already following. Networked Blogs would be nice too but if you don't want to do that one it is okay. Hope your Easter was great and Happy Blog Hopping!
